From Kyrgyzstan and the U.S., Welcome to Beauty Parlor

As we continue planning community events and preparing for the launch of new podcast episodes, we are excited to welcome two new international interns to our team.

Sati is a student from Kyrgyzstan with a multicultural background — Uyghur, Tatar, and Uzbek. She is passionate about speaking up on important issues that don’t always get enough attention. Active, responsible and communicative, she loves working with people, building communities, and finding ways to connect cultures. Outside of studies, you’ll probably find her dancing, playing football or starting conversations that bring new ideas to life.

Diana is a Diplomacy/World Affairs and Media Production student at Occidental College in Los Angeles. She is passionate about using media to build understanding and contribute to global change. Previously, she has worked in researching global gender violence to advocate for funding toward violence prevention and support programs. Creatively, she enjoys writing and filming narrative shorts, as well as working in social media to build community for artistic organizations.
