Building our Berlin feminist community

Take a glimpse into our recent travels throughout Berlin, building networks and bonds with migrant-led beauty salons for our upcoming feminist community program!

First we visited Alaa, a Syrian-Palestinian salon owner, Turkish literature master, and feminist champion that will join us for our upcoming fundraiser for women’s organizations in Gaza and Ukraine. We chatted about future collaboration with our book club and podcast episodes.

We also visited Eleven Beauty Berlin and its Polish founder in the chic neighborhood of Wilmersdorf to attend an event that combined both beauty services with… learning about the women’s pension gap and how to improve female financial literacy! Bringing advocacy into the beauty space created an open, inviting environment that led to enlightening conversations.

Among many other things, we attended a female health discussion at SoHo House to connect with likeminded doers and changemakers. The panel featured female health experts and communicators sharing their knowledge about female healthcare and discussing the disparities in treatment for women. It was a fantastic opportunity to hear from experts in the field on a topic that is too often stigmatized.
