Stories from the Beauty Parlor shares our vision at ESCP Business School

At the beginning of December, Stories from the Beauty Parlor’s founder Annamaria Olsson was invited to speak at the world’s oldest business school ESCP Business School in Berlin. Together with a diverse panel of women choosing very different paths, originating in their own unique stories and skill sets, carving out space in various dominated worlds and roles, she spoke of her journey in leadership and the joys and challenges of being a female founder. The audience was a network of global women leaders spending four days in Berlin.

Among the speakers was Delphine Mousseau. Her inspiring journey as a top industry leader in online retail (with four kids!) said something that is needed to hear: “Sometimes you need to slow down, and sometimes you need to accelerate when the right opportunity comes, otherwise you miss the train. But in the long run, your working life will be a non-linear rollercoaster ride that you need to learn how to enjoy the ride."

Maria Andreeva mentioned how a restless curiosity kept her moving, constantly learning something that really resonated. If you’re not learning anymore and everything feels like a “best of" and/or constant repetition, maybe it's time to go (or reinvent) to keep your spirit alive.

Sharing ideas and vision for Stories from the Beauty Parlor for the first time in this setting was truly exciting and got a LOT of resonance and interest. Several women in the network have already emailed offering their skills, asking how they can get involved in volunteering. Having already built an excited young community in the more socially engaged and beauty space, it was amazing getting this “aha moment” and interest from a more established audience <3
