After recording podcast episodes in beauty parlors in Georgia, Morocco, Kosovo, and Ukraine, we are back in our Berlin hood with an extra special live podcast at the city’s premier English language podcast festival, Podfest.

Our guest is the iconic Charissa Chioccarelli, founder of beauty salon and community space Isla Berlin, who has not only trailblazed nail art but also built a world of women creating, building, and bonding while beautifying Berlin in every sense possible. Isla Berlin combines a nail salon and piercing studio with a social hub, frequently hosting Radio Hangout music events that include DJ sets, recordings, and open decks. The events serve as spaces where community members can perform, socialize, and explore music across genres in a female-centered environment sparking endless new creative endeavors… and new businesses.
